The Uncommon Salon series brings prominent speakers to New York University. Our founder, Kaiser Fung, will be featured again this Thursday, November 1, 2018. The title of his public lecture is Competing in the World Transformed by the Data Revolution. On the previous occasion, he discussed his second book, Numbersense: How to Use Big Data to Your Advantage. We spoke with Kaiser about his upcoming appearance. He believes that data, software, and algorithms will start to influence and even control our lives, and those who do not understand how such technologies work are unlikely to come out losers in this new world. His mission is to help everyone understand these new technologies, to become competitive in this new world. Our newly launched Youtube channel covers the same ground. The first video about Facebook's data collection has been up for a few weeks. Take a look here and follow us. To enter the building to attend the NYU lecture, you must register at this link. You're invited to stay behind after the talk, as we will be organizing a meet-and-greet with Kaiser.
